Anyone have these and could recommend them? Have a 65in LG CX set up in a basement that's in need of better sound. Didn't want to get too far in with actual speakers and a receiver. No experience with sound bars.

This model was already posted a week or so ago… lots of comments. Overall consensus is that these are missing a lot of features. Also quite a few comments on the internet that the rear speakers are difficult to connect and instructions included are worthless.

You can get soundbar surround systems with Dolby Atmos for $200-$300 when on sale. Usually Vizio. If you don't know what Dolby Atmos is, it has speakers that point up, to bounce sound off of your ceiling, making it sound like things are above you. It's pretty amazing. An absolute game changer in audio. Tons of movies (and some shows, particularly on Netflix) support Atmos, and more are always coming out. It will sound like rain is actually hitting your roof, and helicopters are flying over your house. Considering you have an OLED, I wouldn't get anything less than a system that has Atmos. It's just my personal belief that it's kind of silly to have a TV as nice as an OLED and get a sound system that doesn't have Atmos. Look up Vizio 5.1.2 soundbar system. That one has upfiring speakers in the soundbar. They make a 5.1.4 system that has upfiring speakers in the back speakers, too, but it's $1,000. At that price, go with a better brand. As far as only having upfiring speakers in the soundbar and not in the back speakers, you'll still get that overhead sound, it might just sound like it's a little in front of you, depending on your room size. Systems with upfiring speakers in the back speakers make it sound like it's everywhere.

The Atmos sounds that bounce off the ceiling are a little bit gimmick IMO. I would say directly mount speakers at the ceiling would be much better.

LG sound bar are way behind than Samsung sound bars/ systems. LG is way ahead in OLED arena though. Enough said!

Do you know if vizio soundbar is comparable with LG OLED remote? Do we need to control audio with separate remote? I don't want to have two remotes

You realize quite a lot of people rent and don't have that as an option.

The LG remote controls the volume. No need to use the remote that the soundbar comes with.

It's not a gimmick at all. Just about no one is going to put speakers in their ceiling. You haven't heard a good Atmos system if you think it's a gimmick. I'm sick of everyone's "there's something better out there, so this is stupid" mentality. It's like every one of you lives by the motto "If you're not first, you're last." You know you don't have to have the best thing, right? Having speakers in the ceiling is great, but an Atmos soundbar system is still awesome. Not to mention that my suggestion of an Atmos soundbar system was because the other person said they didn't want to get too deep into speakers and a receiver. So, your comment was super irrelevant and just plain annoying, because that's way more involved.

Samsung owns Harman Kardon. That's where the technology comes from.

Just put my Samsung HW990C in my living room. Its mind blowing tech, alexa and NFC integration is extremely helpful. I wish price is not as high as I paid but now I can hear and feel every chopper sound in the action movies and all the sound booms which are only restricted to commercial cinema theaters. Ease to installation is another level, more or less plug and play.

I don't have this model, but on the previous model that I currently own, the rear speakers randomly cut out like a lost connection. I tried everything and still disconnections. LG was of NO HELP what-so-ever not even offering to take it back and replace or fix it. Hopefully these don't have issues
