I'd personally steer clear of this one. HDMI should be a standard in soundbars at this point, Optical in its current form is outdated and doesn't have the bandwidth to carry anything more than compressed Dolby Digital, which still is a respectable format, just not the latest. If this was below $150 and for someone's first time getting better-than-TV audio, then it wouldn't be a bad option.
For $200 range, the Vizio 5.1 V series is worth a look.

Interesting. I guess with smaller form factor soundbars it doesn't add as much?

2.1 soundbars are usually not good enough, just slightly better quality than TV speakers. You really need the center channel for voice clarity and to notice any separation between left/right channels.
The satellites are also hardly wireless since "¹Rear speakers wirelessly transmit to the LG Sound Bar, but require power and speaker wires back to the transmitter" so keep that in mind if you were looking for a zero wire setup - you're still running wire from the transmitter box.
Also 100% agree that HDMI ARC should be a requirement, if only for easy control using the TV remote in addition to future proof bandwidth
