I just saw this, but as of this writing, the trade-in value for a pixel 7 pro is only $250, which is pretty sad for their most recent flagship phone!

The price is a joke for a mid-range device from Google.

Yeah they better up their trade-in values. Typing this from my 6a I got last year for free with trade-in of 5a.

The thing is only Pixel owners love Pixel.
Google was thinking their hardware did so well last year (from many great deals), now they think they are premium phones.
Even iPhones and Samsung caught up to Pixel photo quality while Pixel is still inferior in video quality.
Pixel 8 won't sell well and they'll rethink their strategy next year

There's no reason for them to offer a great trade in for the last years phone. I do expect there will be a bigger incentive for Samsung and iPhone trade ins though.

Google will give you more for an iPhone 14 Pro with a broken screen ($325) than they would for a brand new Pixel 7 Pro ($315).

The reason would be to encourage Pixel users to buy new Pixel phones every year. What they're doing is giving us a reason to keep our phones until the battery deteriorates substantially or the security updates stop coming.

literally just got this phone for the 7 years of updates. Only reason i have ever gotten a new phone was because i couldnt update it. I'm forced to this year because jobs dont offer work phones anymore. I have to have apps on my phone for work now.

I used my Pixel 8 Pro and my 20MP Full Frame DSLR set to an equivalent focal length and an F8 aperture and ISO 100, and captured the same scene with both cameras. I used RAW mode for both photos.

The Pixel 8 Pro was significantly more detailed without being any more noisy.

50MP is not snake oil.
