Okay, let me try to clarify some things. Balloon tires are for sand mostly. They pop fairly easily because they are just very thin material. They "float" over the sand instead of digging into the sand. This is the sole purpose of these tires. If you aren't using it on sand, these are the wrong tires for you. They are lighter than normal turf tires though.

Now, as a kayak cart, this design is better for kayaks than the ones that go through the scupper holes because those areas of the kayak weren't designed and reinforced for that purpose.

If you just want balloon tires, there are options on Amazon, but not for wheel-eze that are less expensive. These are the 12" diameter tires, so it's only going to give the cart 5.5" or so of ground clearance. That's enough for most folks.

where is the $30 one? balloon tires are expensive and they are the only solution on sand.

This is a great deal for anyone looking for wheeleez wheels. Shipped to your house is an extra $30 for oversized shipping. Use store pickup if possible. If you want one shipped to your house from Wheeleez, it's $100 for one wheel without the hub, let alone the entire cart.

try dragging a 80+# kayak across sand with the cheap cart and get back to us.

if you're using it with your 8' sit in kayak to take pics of birds, then yea that cheap cart will probably be fine.

This is a ridiculously hot deal - it's a high quality cart with wheels that alone would probably fetch this much if not more. A quick glance shows this selling at 289 elsewhere.

For those questioning the tires - this company is the gold standard for carts on sand. If you're not looking to haul your kayak on sand, then don't bother, it's not worth the inconvenience or expense.

In for one. REI's a bit of a hike for me, but that $30 surcharge isn't happening. Thanks OP!

Not this one. You can buy regular tire cart, which is much cheaper.

Been watching Wheeleez and other balloon tires on Ali for awhile now. This seems like an excellent deal but a bit too small for my needs. I'm wanting to build a nice beach wheelchair for a family member but this tire type is incredibly expensive and hard to find. Does anyone know if rubber inner tubes at 4 PSI would work just as well with a custom built hub (even if I have to replace more regularly)? I know normal tires won't work (they plow instead of ride overtop soft sugar sand) but I think it has to do with the weight loading of the wheel and pressure it takes to deform.

Also, if anyone knows how to find this style of soft balloon tire in the 19"/490mm size for less than $128 please let me know.

You would need much bigger tires. These are like the minimum size for beach fishing cart.
