Hardware determines software, not the other way. 3A games will keep supporting 8G GPU as long as majority players are still using these
Software drives hardware because they keep adding new filtering, shading and bells and whistles to graphics that force people to pay for better gpus every year

This card performs at a lower level compared to a 3060 Ti. This card should be priced around $250-275 to make sense.
have to be , not just should be lol

128 bit memory interface? no thanks

8GB is not cutting it for a card this price is 2023. Even my 6600XT suffers at 1080p in some games and requires dialing back texture quality etc to prevent hitching
I still don't get why they would neuter an otherwise capable chipset with such a memory bottleneck. It boggles the mind..

I don't know why it would boggle your mind the answer is obvious: greed

now is such a bad time to buy a gpu

these nvidia cards are a rip off

and AMD cards sacrifice a lot of modern features I would want.
e.g. AMD 6000 series can't do 8k60 av1 hardware decoding. The encoder is also slower than nvdia's.
AMD can't match DLSS tech. ray tracing is also gimped.

Seems like a pretty good deal on a 4060 ti given the price history. Whether you think it's worth it in today's market compared to other gpus is debatable.

I've had an AMD card...died after a year and experienced lots of errors that had to be worked around. I know people say it's better now using an AMD but I think most things are tested better against Nvidia. AMD does have better value cards in this space but reliability and compatibility have more value to me and I think you'd have to say that Nvidia provides the more seamless experience, at least they do for me.

Probably energy efficiency. Their data center business relies on providing the most computation power for the energy consumption. Which is the wrong metric for gamers.

This is a non starter once you research the card. You can get a 3060 Ti for this price and end up with better memory bandwidth, or a 3060 12 gig with better memory bandwidth and more RAM.

Nvidia gimped almost their entire range of cards and limited the their frame insertion to just the 40 series, to create an artificial benefit. AMD gave you their frame generation technology on any previous gen hardware that supported FSR.

That wasn't the only thing they did, it has fewer shaders as well.

Uh, FSR 3 is matching DLSS right down to the frame generation feature and the 7th gen cards are smoking this thing almost across the entire range.

Oh and the FSR 3 actually works on the 6th gen cards also.
