Note that their drawers are not water proof like their other PACKOUT products are. (No rubber seals like Dewalt's and no flip up cover like other companies)

This is the only (legit) gripe I've heard about the PACKOUT line. But there's a bunch of DIY tips available to help with that. Most requiring silicone and making your own seals, which you will eventually have to replace after so much use.

Both of these are the 'old' versions, but they're coming with enough dividers for all drawers now (I think for a while they'd only ever included enough dividers for one drawer).

The new 3 drawer has two narrower and one tall drawer.

I have a set of these drawers, and they're great for most of my spare moto parts.

I suggest you order a Wall Mounting kit https://www.acmetools.com/milwauk...24150.html [acmetools.com]
OR the kit with the dolly so you can roll it around: https://www.acmetools.com/milwauk...02507.html [acmetools.com]
EDIT: promo only shown at checkout, all good

I was looking at the packout drawers and almost bit the bullet until I saw how many different kits will be releasing drawers in the next 6 months. If I was already deep in packouts I'de be about this deal. If I didn't have any other packout stuff I would wait.

Honestly, in the this price range they're quite worthwhile unless you think you'll never want more in the future. I bought the 2 + 3 drawer set (effectively ~$100 each) with a couple extra of their clear top organizers and I'm glad I did, they're all pretty top quality stuff that just works really well together vs other systems.

I do want a wheeled unit with a handle and the 2 small + 1 large drawer config, maybe with a slightly wider wheelbase so the box/drawer space doesn't have to be sacrificed. Come on, Milwaukee!

I'm starting from scratch. What should I be waiting for?

A few other companies have new or expanding lines of modular toolboxes. Toughbuilt StackTech, Flex Stack Pack, Klein Modbox, Ridgid Pro Gear, etc. I used to have the older Ridgid ones, they weren't that useful for me, but I have my eye on the new Toughbuilt line.

Love these drawers, only need 3 drawer sets now but have over 10 sets stacked on dollies and these are definitely the best stackable rolling drawer option and with Packout you can add so much more with third party accessories.

Take a look at the current Flex sale at Lowes. they start at just under Packout pricing and May be a good deal. It is clear more brands are doing drawers now — last year it was mostly just Packout

Yeah this is the time of the year to buy. Everyone else is just playing catchup to Milwaukee's system. I don't think they are offering anything outside of lower prices.

I mean, the drawers sag and rub when you put too much weight in them, too.. but that's a hard problem to solve without either blowing up either weight constraints or the price for consumers.
this, even my "old" style 3-drawer unit sags and rubs on the side of the rails with the amount of stuff I have in it. I can't imagine loading up the 2-drawer and how it would sag and rub.

If you like the color red then it might be worth the scratch. Ridgid is bringing what a lot of people want with a drawer base slated for a December release in addition to other drawer sets. Something (base drawers) Milwaukee has yet to release or give a timeline on. This Ridgid set is almost guaranteed to be cheaper than anything red and stand up just as well. They tend to lack rail accessories though. Toughbuilt is probably the one putting the most pressure on with more modularity and what looks to be a bigger supported line of accessories for their rail system. Aftermarket rail accessories for packout seems to be a big deal and a lot of those that make them seem to be real googly eyed at the possibilities of the Toughbuilt rails. Flex has their drawers out right now their large two drawer seems popular. they also seem to have a lot of rail accessory mounting available. similar the the red stuff in availability but personally unless your using a lot of flex tools it might be a pass. Klein MOD box has three drawer boxes coming out, one big one, 2 drawer, or 3 drawer. they use their own rail on the side of the box. They made their base with the electrician in mind it looks with the back stowage idea. For the price I'm not sold but I'm also not an electrician. Dewalt released their three drawer unit if you need IP rating and flat bases. My wrap up, I think Ridgid will be a price winner but offer one set of drawers by q1 24. Toughbuilt ishere to spoil everyone with what they wanted but nobody at big red was willing to listen.

Agree on the annoying sag & rubbing with any weight (some rub without anything) on the Packout drawers. The Packout drawers open smoothly but only the $99 Dewalt 2-drawers (NO SAG) + seals keep the darn stink bugs dead or alive out in my garage.

I hope the Ridgid drawers won't have this problem but I have picked up several of the ToughBuilt StackTech boxes and they are impressive. Lowes has the buy more-save more promo saving some $$
