You can look up the reviews on Steam and see for yourself.
Both games seem to have mostly positive reviews, but will give you more insight as to what kinda experience your in for.
Just beat surviving the aftermath not too long ago on 200% difficulty which isn't that hard.
It's important to note after a certain population and physical settlement size well known bugs start affecting your game negatively and certain mechanic chokeholds come into play. This occurred or me around 300-400 population with half the map being built. I was trying to get all the base game achievements in one go.
Overall it felt like banished with a sort of combat event system and a map over world where you can send special survivors to explore, scavenge and 'fight'
Earthlock was fun until the end game. You have a level cap, and the enemies are extremely hard. I couldn't just over level and beat it. I ended up never finishing the game. It had some cool ideas and I liked it until I got frustrated towards the end.
