+1 the majority of Amazon's sales on physical media are simply to match Best Buy's sales or Target's B2G1 promos. Would rather support the companies that actually put things on sale not just the megacorp that reactively price matches their competition.

If available for same price, buy from Best Buy.

Best Buy is the place to buy these 4k deals. They are the store that originally had the sale and they have way more options available than what is listed here.

Buy from companies that actually offer you deals not predatory places like Amazon that try to price match the competition out of existence

I have to agree but it's a sad state when Best Buy is the lesser of two evils.

If that's reason enough for you to not support Best Buy, why tf are you supporting amazon/walmart? Both their list are far worse and far longer.
Thanks for the specifics.

Good point, Amazon and Walmart are both charities, not a fair comparison.

Does (4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital) mean that I can play this disc in a regular bluray player?

Got the A Clockwork Orange 4K at Best Buy just now. Had a digital code that expired on 9/30/23. Haven't bought a physical movie in a while, and only $6, but still kind of annoying to put a digital code with an expiration date in an item that could sit on the shelf for years

It means it comes with 2 disks, a 4K disk that cannot be played in a regular Blu Ray player, and another disk, a regular Blu Ray disk, that can be played in a regular Blu Ray player.

Along with a digital code that will redeem in 4K for streaming.

Most likely it is still redeemable for years after expiration date

Did some googling. It's a Common problem with Warner Bros movies.

No. Warner Bros. invalided all their expired codes. The culling happened earlier in the year. Quite a few movie collectors on Reddit were not happy about it. This effects all HBO products as well (which WB acquired). Notice that re-issues or new seasons of popular TV series do not even come with codes: Band of Brothers, Rick & Morty, Game of Thrones, just to name a few. WB is pushing their code sales to Fanflix.

I hate that every sale Amazon does nowadays seems to just be matching the competition.. but BestBuy has already committed to pulling out of the physical media game (so they have more room to have vendors selling Cox internet, ATT phone service, solar panels and roofing in their stores?)

If you're going on store, BestBuy is the way to go. But if you're ordering online, I have about a 50/50 rate of luck getting physical media/games from them in decent condition. Most of the time it's shipped in a polybag from a store across the country, takes a week to get here and has a broken case, mangled slipcover or a loose disc floating around due to the lack of packaging. I don't even trust ordering steel books if I can't get them in stores anymore.

I love BestBuy, but buying movies/games is something I can only do in store after way too many bad experiences.

Amazon will get the same movie to you tomorrow (or even today!) With a much smaller chance of it being as destroyed

The Whale was an amazing film. Don' know if it's something I'll ever want to watch twice, though.
I was holding out hoping a 4k release would eventually come here. But for $6 I guess this will be all we are getting. Apparently it got a 4k release in Germany.
