Both the single unit and the double unit kit are back on sale.

Single [adorama.com]: $59 - Originally - $109
Double Kit [adorama.com]: $149 - Originally - $249

This appears to be the best price ever on the single light unit. Previously, even though the dual light kit was $149, the single was $84.

I suggest buying the dual light kit and buying an additional 3rd for anyone into macro or portraiture photography.

This is my run and gun setup for night time club-type portraiture. The lens ring and gels the 2 unit comes with are great if you have a normal lens with front mount options. The 9mm Laowa in the photo can't use them though.

What is the advantage of buying the two flash kit rather than two of the single flash kits? Additional accessories?
Also, should this work with an older Godox X1T controller?

I know this is old, but replying for historical sake...

The 2 light kit has the lens ring adapters and mounting ring for the lights.

If you only buy the single light kits, you'll have no way to mount them onto the camera.
