I don't believe this is a lightning deal, still the same price. Gets great reviews, just larger capacity than I need/want.
Doesn't seem to be. It had this "0% claimed" bar when I posted it, but it's gone now.
It does do smaller brews (2-4 cups and 5-8cups are options). I just got mine today so I'll try it out tomorrow.

Thanks and will be interesting to hear your thoughts if you post them. We typically brew 6 cups a morning, our Cuisinart CPO SCAA needs to be replaced soon.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert on coffee machines, but here's my impressions.
I think it's giving me what I want. I tried the 8-cup model as a refurb and the coffee didn't come out rather cold. But this unit it's over 190°F. And the carafe keeps it warm for hours. It's messy, coffee grounds are getting all over the inside, but it could be that I'm doing something wrong.
But hey the coffee tastes good. Been using it heavily all this weekend and I like the output

I have the eight cup model, and I've also found that it very easily overflows the filter. I think it's the most finicky coffee maker I've ever used in that regard. (Still a very good coffee maker overall though).
I'm happy to hear that the new model has a better carafe. OXO's the nine cup model has a superior thermal carafe to the 8, so If this new machine succeeds in combining the best of the 8 and the 9 cup models, I'm envious.
