I saw this 22" early last week on the shelf in Walmart which scanned for the $97 price. If I didn't already have the 22" Adventure I would have bought this in a heartbeat. Great price, and it holds a lot of food. Can hook up to a 20# tank.

You can actually put the Blackstone Pizza Oven conversion for the 22" on top of the base after removing the steel griddle and make fantastic pizzas. I have their pizza oven too.

The hood is permanently attached. It makes a difference since you can use it to hold in steam. The hard lift off cover isn't designed for that. However a large disposable foil roasting pan can be used to steam, instead, which I use on my 36" griddle. Then use the pan to serve your food.

For some reason my brain wasn't working and I assumed a "hard cover" was a "hard carrying case"

I guess hard cover and hood cover could be used interchangably

Does this cook fine with the smaller propane tank, or should I get the conversion kit? I won't be using it too often.

I ended up getting this on the last deal but haven't opened it yet. Anyone know if the Costco version is better at $159 in-store price? It does have a hinged hood.

I own the 22" with hood and the adjustable Blackstone stand that I got for $99 on clearance last year at WM. I actually prefer to use the (now $15) Coleman table if I'm in a level environment b/c its lighter and more compact then trying to lug around the Blackstone stand. It has enough side-room to put a plate, utensils, seasonings and a beer.
