Best buy one got QLED.
But, for this price range does it really have a decent q panel, or more of a marketing fluff...
QLED makes a difference and with mini led its even better. I bought the 399 best buiy one the other day and compared the 400 series tcl uhd units, its worth the money.
I have the 65" roku tv I am quite happy with. Paid $400
Paid $235 for the 75" android version on a closeout.
Both TVs have been great though this ROKU version has a much better interface but has an IR remote which really is the only negative. (Maybe this has a better remote)
I use the 65" for my XBOX Series X, love it!
Does the roku one has a web browser ?

I got the $230 deal at Target two years ago TCL 65" Google 4k. People still compliment it when they come over so I'm sure this one is awesome as well for that price.

The 4-Series TVs offer pretty good bang for your buck. I mean it's a 65" TV for under $250. My son has had good luck with 2 separate 4-Series TVs. He's had a 50" and a 55". Over time the interface has slowed down, so I think that's valuable information for people to have. His are both the Roku versions. The 50" had zero backlight bleed while the 55" has some very minimal backlight bleed. While I think they offer great bang for the buck, you might need to play the panel lottery. So if you're the kind of person that wall mounts their TV, you might plug yours in first and test it before doing so in case it has more backlight bleed than you're willing to deal with.
If I needed a TV for a room, though, I'd have no hesitation picking one of these up. Just go in knowing you're not getting top of the line specs, but I'd hope that's obvious given the price point.

Tcl sucks got a 55in about a year ago and put it in my spare room used sparingly and the screen went out shortly after a year
I'm 2 for 2 with TCLs on screen issues within a few years.
One just has an annoying rolling line you can only see if the screen is a mainly a shade of gray. Started after 18 months or so. Good enough still for a bedroom or spare room.
The second made it a little over 3 years. One side of the screen intermittently flashes. There are plenty of fixes online for this, but they cheaped out on the design of this particular model.. so no good. Feel like I'm going to have a seizure while watching, so had to retire it.
I've become convinced in the last few years that getting a $228 - $250 65" TV for Black Friday, using store pickup whenever possible, and getting the longest possible warranty is the way to go.
1. If you go any smaller than 65", you're not making the most out of the benefit of 4K resolution. If you sit more than four feet away, your naked eye can't differentiate between 4K pixels for 4K content. On the other hand, if you go bigger than 65", the cost per square inch quickly rises. This 75" TV ($398) is 33% more screen area but for 75% more cost.
Finally, let's say your living room already has a 65" TV and you want to go bigger, Wouldn't your money be better spent getting another el cheapo 65" 4K TV into another room of your house?
2. As far as I can tell, you can rarely find a $228 - $250 65" 4K TV, new, outside of the Black Friday timeframe.
3. It seems like when people get the TVs shipped, they arrive cracked. I'm only working with a sample size of two here, but I bought a $250 Hisense TV from Best Buy on Black Friday 2020, and a $228 TCL TV very similar to this one from Wal-Mart on Black Friday 2022. Both times I used curbside pickup and had them load the TV into the back of my 2013 Ford Escape, screen side up (if anyone drives one, a 65" TV will fit with like one inch of width to spare). Both survived 20-30 minute drives home. Without getting too long winded, the point is if you have a car big enough to fit it, you should absolutely use curbside pickup instead of getting it shipped.
4. Let's be honest, these Black Friday TVs don't excel at quality or dependability. This is where getting the longest possible extended warranty comes in. As a general rule, yes, I do think extended warranties are scams, but in this one case I prefer to have it. You get a better deal on them on Black Friday because the price of a Geek Squad or All State warranty is usually based on the price you pay for the TV.
