Does anyone know if this TV has auto-brightness dimming based on the brightness of the room? Thats one of my biggest complaints about my current TCL 55"— during the day it's on normal brightness but at night I literally have to crank it down to "low power" and "darker" manually in the menus otherwise it's like staring at the sun.

Of course when I wake up in the morning and it's bright again, I have to reverse the settings and put it back on normal/normal.

Gets old when you have to do this twice a day. Tried to find a happy medium but it's difficult as I have lots of windows my bedroom and at night I use blackout curtains.

Also good because it shows dimensions of the stand spread and actual height and width with and without the stand… and she barely fits on my dresser with 6" or so to spare on each side. Just the way I would like it.

Likely it does. But it defaults to being extra bright, or defaults to changing based on the scenes being displayed instead of the extrlernal lights.

Just breezed through checkout for one with 5-year warranty. We have had to use the warranty on TCL's before so I'll risk the $8/year.

An uber type driver delivering a tv Id rather have a shipping company do that.

Not sure for your case, but as it gives me piece of mind for the next 5 years (and we have kids that will likely be using it more than us) I could justify it.

This will be replacing a much older power-hungry westinghouse in the basement for casual use, but given that I've had to do 2 different warranty replacements with Walmart over TCL products in the past I want to be covered.

The main issues I saw with previous TCLs were issues with red colorizations or static on the panel, though not sure how they have been in recent years.

That said, it was indicated that you could cancel the warranty within 30 days of purchase, so I reserve the right to decide later in the month I dont need it after setting it up Smilie.
