The problem isn't the brand, the problem is the material. Steer clear of luggage made with ABS. Stick with 100% polycarbonate shells.

Much bigger than 26" and your problem will be being overweight, especially if you're flying low cost carriers that limit you to 40 lbs.

Agree with this 100%. One more thing to add isnt 26 inches too small? Would want one atleast 28 . Not sure if thats the case any more or not!!

Cheap luggage is fine for occasional travelers, but get the classic fabric (soft side) ones if you go cheap. Fabric won't crack or split when tossed around or put at the bottom of a big stack of luggage. Cheap plastic suitcases will.

Sam's Club has some very good ones made of polycarbonate, with YKK zippers and Hinomoto wheels. Member's Mark is the brand. $69 for the plain carry on and $89 for the one with a front pocket.

edit: I just saw someone linked to the Member's Mark combo of carry on and 26". That's an even better deal for $140.
