Seems like a pretty nice laptop if you don't need it for gaming.

I've had a great experience with my last Zenbook - still going from 2018. The reason I'm replacing is the battery isn't holding up anymore (I get around 1.5hrs) and the specs are starting to show their age.

We have last year's model, it died in 10 months probably cause it was always running hot (my kid played Roblox on it a lot). Best Buy fixed it under warranty. The case was also splitting but they fixed that since there was no drip damage.

The plastic hinges are sketchy, not sure that has been fixed.

Cannot recommend it above $500-600.

It's hot, loud and build quality is not great.

Soldered RAM so not upgradable or repairable.

It's looks quite identical to Q420VA which was going for $699 last month. 13700 512GB, 100$ more for a 1TB 1360P

The processor is slower (i7-12700H) and the screen looks worse (14.5" 2.8K 120hz 100% DCI-P3 500nit touchscreen) than the BestBuy Asus Zenbook 14X that was $700 end of October.

Only plus side is Costco warranty

Edit: The BestBuy Zenbook 14X has a i7-13700H

You caught a typo of mine. I meant the BestBuy had a i7-13700H.

BestBuy Zenbook 14X OLED has a i7-13700H with 2 extra P-cores (Passmark 28218)
This Costco Zenbook 14 OLED has a i7-1360P (Passmark 19266)

Be careful. Battery life on the new intel-based Zenbooks is terrible. My wife's zenbook (12th gen i5, OLED screen, etc) is advertised as "up to 18hrs" but it has never lasted more than 6hrs. Usually lasts about 4hrs and that's not even with intensive use. Power management is crazy bad.

I own the $699 BB model, it has a touchscreen, but this Costco one doesn't. The BB model is about a half pound heavier yet has a slightly bigger chassis and screen size at 14.5". Costco model also has a fingerprint reader while the BB model doesn't

Yours was the better deal right? I missed out when BB had it for $799 a couple weeks ago (wish I knew it was $699 last month!).

Unless I'm missing something, even at the same price point, the BB laptop seems like it has more? Better screen, touch, processor…no fingerprint reader, maybe better battery life and…?

Just trying to figure out if I should pick this one up or wait when the BB one eventuality goes on sale again.

That's my opinion that the BB model is better
