Ive thoroughly checked out the differences between the 280Fs and the 8000's and other than very tiny differences in cabinet size, there's no substantive difference between the two models. One reviewer opened up both cabinets and found the same hardware inside. If you can find the 280s in stock they'll be cheaper than the 8000s and theyre essentially the same speaker (the 8000's are a tiny bit smaller).
