Seems a lil lackluster, for $600 a night I'd be expecting some over the top suite in Cancun, especially off the hotel strip

Never stayed on the strip. What's the advantage?

Access to night clubs, malls, and restaurants, close vicinity to the fairy to isla de mujeres and inner city things like Mercados. There's a loop bus system that is very cheap.

Downside is the places are pretty run down compared to the off strip resorts.

Lol I remember this place. Went here on a crazy eversave . Com deal that was like $600 for 4 nights all-Inc for 2 as a promo since they just opened around 2010 or so. My rose-colored glasses view didn't read the fine print and we got basically threatened into a timeshare pitch. Mexico rules. 😂

Regardless, after the pitch, we did enjoy the resort mostly but it was missing a lot of polish and finishing. The beach was rougher than the Hotel Zone beach because this place is north of there. However, the food and layout was decent/good and the staff were friendly. It is a little off the main path but was right on for that price at the time.

The best part of the trip was zooming around an a moped and checking out Isla Mujeres. That was paradise. Go there before it gets swallowed by the ocean!

I disagree, I think the strip is horrible. Maybe ok for a day or night trip but every hotel I have been to in Cancun has been substantially better outside the strip. Less noise, less people, better/cleaner beaches, and way better all inclusive offerings.

Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. I am saying that because this is an off-strip location that I would expect it to be really nice for the price, which coincides with what you're saying, which is that off strip resorts are nicer.

Nice place to spend a weekend at, been there many times, much better than Miami if you care. PR has better beaches to offer in my opinion. Punta Cana is a cheap PR. Wink

Looking to fly to either Caribbean or any beach resort on east. Which ones you suggest? Punta Cana/Cancun/Bahamas/...? Also, any info on where to find better deals?
TIA.

Just stayed at this resort a couple months ago, its nice and all the staff were friendly. Restaurants in the resort are nice but pricy and there isn't really any other restaurants within walking distance to go eat at. Expect to rent a car or take a taxi if you want to go almost anywhere besides the resort. That said, highly likely the reason they are offering this deal is to generate leads for the resort that the same company also owns right next door, Garza Blanca. They will try to get you to attend a 2 hour (more like 4-5 hour) presentation (sales pitch), in exchange for "VIP" status and free brunch. They will use high pressure sales tactics to get you to buy a membership/timeshare and the valuations they make up for the membership/timeshare are completely fabricated. No matter what they tell you its still a timeshare and is maybe worth 1/20th the valuations they say its worth. Garza Blanc is stunning however, so if you are actually interested in a timeshare visit the timeshare users group forums [tug2.com]first to educate yourself. If you are willing to turn down the, almost mandatory, "presentation" or willing to sit through 4-5 hours of high pressure sales tactics and waste most of a day, this is a good deal.
