Topaz Labs' Black Friday deal is now live.

https://www.topazlabs.com/black-friday

Ultimate Bundle - $299 (was $755)
  • Video AI 4
  • Photo AI 2
  • Gigapixel AI
  • DeNoise AI
  • Sharpen AI
Dual Bundle - $249 (was $498)
  • Video AI 4
  • Photo AI 2
Photo Plus Bundle - $199 (was $456)
  • Photo AI 2
  • Gigapixel AI
  • DeNoise AI
  • Sharpen AI
From what I've heard, most of the functionality of Gigapixel, DeNoise, and Sharpen has been rolled into PhotoAI, and the individual tools won't be updated. Assuming that's the case, the Dual Bundle may be the best deal here. That's what I bought.

If you're not familiar with these products, they use AI to enhance or enlarge photos and videos, and can also increase the framerate of your videos. If you want to try them out you can install and run them for free with limitations (no saving photos, watermark on videos).

Yeah, thank stinks. You don't have to re-buy, just that you may be blocked for future new version releases.

Bought the photo bundle two years ago for $49.99.......
I guess inflation or greed quadruples the price in 2023.
It's criminal that the software doesn't offer lifetime upgrades, especially at this price level.

I have the OG individual sets and Photo AI 1.5. I've been mixing my use of the individual apps and Photo AI. Sometimes Photo AI is a hammer when you only need a mallet -- but to be fair I have not used Photo AI 2.0 yet, so that version could have changed things. But Photo AI 1.5 does have a penchant for over processing. I'm excited to try Photo AI 2.0 to see if it actually obsoletes the individual plugins.

Kind of. You own the apps for life, it's not a subscription. I bought my bundle a couple years ago and have never found the need to buy the upgrade, but I will this year. My cost for the Ultimate bundle as a current user is $150, which includes Video AI, which I don't own plus the update to Photo AI 2.0 and Gigapixel. I think that is reasonable given its utility. I spend thousands on photo equipment and computers to process my photos, not to mention the time and effort to get the pictures, so $150 every few years for the magic Topaz does it actually "cheap."

Right, and it's also "criminal" you don't offer your services and skills in perpetuity for one low price too, whatever your profession is.

I need just their Video AI software. Too bad their deals are just in the bundles, unlike in previous years. I use Pixelmator Pro for photos so I don't need the photo AI software.

Pixelmator Pro and Photo AI are very different apps. Pixelmator Pro is more like Photoshop, which manipulates images with some color and sharpening controls. Photo AI is used as a helper to clean up, sharpen, and/or enlarge a file almost instantly. So, by example, I do all my primary photo editing in Lightroom but send to Photoshop to remove things I don't like or to correct geometry and send to Topaz to clean up noise/grain, or add sharpness to a slightly motion blurred photo, or to add pixels to it if I have to do a severe crop.

Their products used to have lifetime upgrades, then they changed the name and claimed new technology to charge us again.

I can do most/all that in Pixelmator Pro. They have built-in AI/ML tools.

I like using Gigapixel to quickly batch a set of grainy images. It can make super grainy low light images look pretty good. I use it for theatre/concert work.
It's also good for sharpening large group shots of people taken far away. That said, Lightroom introduced similar technology a few months ago. It works nearly they same. Just takes more manual work because you have to set it for each image.
I know many people who like to use these programs up uprez AI images.
It's cool software... Just very overpriced and their update practices are shady and misleading.

Paintshop Pro has similar AI features.
It's on sale at HumbleBundle.
