Bought this at launch -- Previously had a PSVR(1), Quest 2 and now a Quest 3.

PSVR2 is nice in that it uses the high power of a PS5 to run games, and has the highest quality, most "feature length" games. If you want the absolute best version of VR Games (not mixed reality) without a PC, this is the way to go. Resident Evil 8, Gran Turismo.. Both in VR are incredible and highly recommended.

With that said, even $500 is a lot for what it is. PSVR1 games need to be updated to be used on PSVR2, which many have not been. Passthrough is better than Quest2, but still Black and White (so no mixed reality) and the toughest point for me is it's tethered to a PS5.

If you ever use a Quest 3 or other wireless headset, you'll hate the wired headset.

It is comfortable, games are high-quality and better than most I've found on other platforms. If you want the best quality of full-length games, this is the way to go (besides PCVR). For convenience, Quest 3 is the total winner. Mixed reality? Quest 3. Even streaming PCVR to a headset.. probably Quest 3. But if you have a PS5 and want the best versions of games without a PC, this is it. Some upcoming games like Resident Evil 4 should also be nice, and fortunately most have been via free patch versus a re-buy

The first retailer to list this for $300 wins the game.

Do you know when this promotion will end? I'm hoping for a certain website to have 10% CB.

No Idea on when it might expire! I've never posted a deal before, but I've been actively looking for a deal on this as a Christmas gift. I saw this and jumped on it. Combined it with some Dell rewards points too from PS5 I bought the other day there.

Just a warning: software support has been weak and is already drying up.

Wait what? You can't play psvr 1 games on it? That's insanity.

Quest 3 that much of an upgrade from the Quest 2?

In my opinion: yes. The new lenses (pancake lens), mixed reality and faster processor make it feel like a noticeable upgrade. Mixed reality is finally usable, and fun!, with color passthrough and there are already many games making good use of it.

Using 3rd party plugins like "quest games optimizer" ($10) will even let you max out resolution of Quest 2 games not yet updated, making it feel like a major upgrade.

$500 is a pricey upgrade, but I'm completely happy with the Quest 3 even this early on.

Lots of features the Quest 2, Pro and even PSVR2 don't have yet, like the color passthrough.

With that said, the $500 intro price will quickly go up if you add more memory ($150), controller grips ($40), silicone facepiece ($40), battery strap ($130), charging dock ($130), case ($60?), headphones and prescription lenses

Not making this backwards compatible with PSVR1 games was the dumbest thing they could've done
