In fact reading your post sounds like you know you don't need it at all. Might just be GAS and a fear of missing out on the deal that's giving you conflicting feelings.
For benefits though: it's faster on the long end meaning you can shoot at lower ISO or higher shutter speed on the zoomed end of the lens.
So if freezing motion or getting less noise on the zoomed end is something you feel that you need, then you should get this lens. Otherwise, practice discipline and avoid falling for GAS.

When taking camera for fun traveling trip not knowing what kind of video/photo we may took, hard to justify carry such a heavy lens around.... Especially now a day newer Sony camera can take decent photo/video in low light(high ISO). So what else people can think of that may be useful? One think I can think of is sometimes there are some indoor band/music show in High School but only happen once or twice a year and usually they have dedicated people taking video of the show.... So hardly anyone brought camera that has huge lens on it.
And I heard many in door events (like concert), they have rule that people can't bring lens that is longer than 6 inches which is about 152mm and people said someone at the door actually measure it. And this lens is just over that limit at 157.4mm

Also, from looking around ebay and other online store that sell used lens, seems like Rokinon/Samyang may not have much resell value? What do people think about the resell value of this lens in case in the future don't think you need it and want to sell it?
