If you're not doing professional photog/video and you're happy with your current setup then you shouldn't buy it.

In fact reading your post sounds like you know you don't need it at all. Might just be GAS and a fear of missing out on the deal that's giving you conflicting feelings.

For benefits though: it's faster on the long end meaning you can shoot at lower ISO or higher shutter speed on the zoomed end of the lens.

So if freezing motion or getting less noise on the zoomed end is something you feel that you need, then you should get this lens. Otherwise, practice discipline and avoid falling for GAS.

The "buy with prime" shipping isn't working. This 35-150mm is clearly in the buy with prime section but when you go to checkout (even with Amazon pay), it's showing up as USPS shipping. What am I missing or is the website just bugged?

899.10, better than 999 from BH photo this morning. Half of Tamron!

So it is a half price of Tamron's. What is the performance and size difference between these two.

Tempted, but way too big for my A7C I think.

How is this compare to Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8, the few reviews on Amazon sounds like Tamron are noticeable better. But is that worth the extra especially this lens is not cheap neither at $900.

What does that even mean? It would look weird? Your arms can't deal with the balance? I run the Sony 200-600 on mine.

Can't resist. In for one. No idea how to sign up for rewards, though, despite creating an account prior to purchase. Thanks OP.

For someone that has Tamron 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 and not a professional photography nor videography, what's the benefit people can think of that may be worth it to buy this Samyang 35-150mm F2-2.8 especially this lens is much heavier and bigger (575g vs 1224g) and (117mm vs 157.4mm).
When taking camera for fun traveling trip not knowing what kind of video/photo we may took, hard to justify carry such a heavy lens around.... Especially now a day newer Sony camera can take decent photo/video in low light(high ISO). So what else people can think of that may be useful? One think I can think of is sometimes there are some indoor band/music show in High School but only happen once or twice a year and usually they have dedicated people taking video of the show.... So hardly anyone brought camera that has huge lens on it.

And I heard many in door events (like concert), they have rule that people can't bring lens that is longer than 6 inches which is about 152mm and people said someone at the door actually measure it. And this lens is just over that limit at 157.4mm

Rokinon version was $799 at woot for few weeks. I feel this has more to go down. I returned Rokinon one after trying few days. Focusing was not great and at f2.8 it is soft.
