Many decent Discounts on the site👌

Jenson also has a decent price matching policy. You can contact them online and link products from other websites (typ. US based) and they will issue you a unique coupon code for that item & the price you asked matched.

I'm surprised how heavy these are. I guess you need to really spend to get a light MB.

At the end of the day these are all still relatively "cheap" mountain bikes. Nobody is getting new race-worthy FS bikes for $5K.

A lot of geed deals here depending on your size. I was eyeballing the Kona Process bikes yesterday.

Some great deals <$2k too

GT Sensor Comp [jensonusa.com] $1,689 - currently available in all sizes. That Marzocchi fork is essentially a Fox 34 Rhythm. Only weak link is that SX drivetrain but fine for most people. Could upgrade the derailleur and still be under $2k.

Marin Alpine Trail 7 [jensonusa.com]$1,899 - Long(ish) travel and slack AF. Pretty legit enduro rig for <$2k

These aren't really race bikes, 170mm of front suspension is a free ride bike.

Other than the occasional hike-a-bike, I've never really cared about the weight of a trail bike.

Even racing, bike weight is probably the last, lowest bang for your buck to invest in.

If bike weight truly matters, the rider is already a top of their class racer....or a dentist. Stick Out Tongue

Sheesh. Don't tell those bmw or Porsche drivers that they spend hundreds of thousands dollar exta on some special version of model just because it uses carbon fiber hood and panel to save 50lbs.
When the driver could have saved that instead

Really what it comes down to. Spending thousands more to save three pounds most of us could have lost with a bit of a stricter diet is lunacy.

Unless you're doing both optimizing rider and gear weight, bike weight is not all the important (within reason)

Regardless of rider weight, a lighter bike is typically much nicer to ride. It feels better, handles better, accelerates faster, etc. Perhaps bike weight doesn't matter much for the way in which you choose to ride, but for many people it truly makes a difference.

Never ridden it, but if I had $2k to drop on a NEW bike that's probably where I would put it. Better groupset than the GT, and as tempting as that Marin is, it's more of an enduro bike.
