Good deal. If you're on the fence, go ahead and pull the trigger on this. Installed 2 in my house (upstairs/downstairs) in the spring when they last went to $189, with only one remote sensor. I bought with a 14-month payback in mind, but my power bill savings over the summer almost paid for these, and I'm anticipating continued nice things in the winter months and the gas bill savings. I like it that Ecobee continues to support and develop this product, pushing upgrades and new services and benefits to the devices.

I've always wondered, how does it save money? If I'm at home all day since I'm 100% telework, what can it do to lower my power bill? And how is it any better than just setting a schedule?

Its biggest advantage really is not turning on as often when you're not at home, which you won't get the benefit of. But it also has access to the current outside temperature (and I believe weather forecasts too) and avoids unnecessary cooling/heating if you let it. It uses humidity information for that too.
The sensors are there to help it decide whether to start cooling/heating or not, depending on which room is occupied and what the temperature in that room is. For example, when I work from home, my office (room) gets too hot (hotter than where the actual thermostat is), so it turns on cooling. This causes the rest of the house to get colder than I want, but at least I can sit comfortably in my office. The best solution for this would be to buy some smart vents and selectively heat / cool each room, but those are still quite expensive.

you can also use beestat.io and it'll help you balance your system via the vent dampers
Is this the same premium that's compatible with the new doorbell? Or is Costco selling the old version? I can't seem to find a reliable source https://www.ecobee.com/en-us/smar...t-premium/

Yes. This is the premium. Bought mine earlier this month. Will have to try to get a price match in store lol
I am new to the thermostat world. I bought a home two years ago and never bothered to change the default Honeywell thermostats(non-smart) that were given by the builder on both floors. I just saw this deal actual smart thermostat premium with 2 sensors total on Costco for $199 and also the 2 sensor bundle) for $60 after discount and wanted to find out if I should jump on both these.
I have 5 BR(1 on first floor and 4 on second floor) and only the one on first floor will be occupied majorly except when there are relatives so I don't want to keep changing the temperature when there are guests. So, I would like your opinion if I should just buy the one on Costco(Smart Thermostat Premium + 2 sensors) or also buy the add'l sensor combo, ie., totaling 4 sensors along with these. Also, do I need multiple thermostats on multiple floors or is the purpose of sensors the reason to avoid having multiple thermostats? Asking this question as I currently have my setup that way(one on each floor) but with non-smart thermostats.
Since I just saw this deal, I would like to know experts opinion if I should purchase, before I research more on this thermostat so I can score the deal as well. Please advise, thank you.

We just bought a house (still moving) that has 4 HVAC systems in it (don't ask, it's kinda ridiculous). Is there any synergy between multiple Ecobee stats working together, or am I managing them independently?

Should be compatible
