Was a huge skeptic about this thing and we did not plan on getting one, but we did, and I am absolute believer.

For anyone who doesn't know how it works. There is a microphone in it and depending on how loud the noise your baby makes is, it will respond by rocking at different speeds and playing varying levels of white noise to calm the baby down. It's actually incredible how quickly it responds and then goes back to a gentle or no rocking as soon as the baby calms down. There were countless nights when without it we would have had to get up and calm the baby down, but this thing did it instead. Ended up getting much more sleep over the 5ish months we used it.

I think we bought ours for around this much and sold it for 900 maybe. If you buy one in good condition used and don't destroy it, you will most likely be able to get all or most of your money back.

We plan on getting another one if whenever we have another kid.

If you end up having another baby, they're really not supposed to be sleeping through the night for the first several days at the very least. You're supposed to wake them up at least every 3 hours to feed them.

Oh, and congrats on the baby! Mine turns 1 week old tomorrow.

YMMV for the success of the SNOO. Very overpriced but some parents have luck with it. I think a lot of new parents buy into it because it's hard to understand how little sleep you get in the beginning (and knowing it's normal). It did not work for our kids as there was no change in how well they slept in a crib, bassinet or SNOO vs the other. Truth be told they both did better in cribs. However, I have some friends who would swear by it and sell their left leg for one and others who had the same experience we did with our children. As some have posted check with your employer and benefits and/or maybe rent one before jumping into a big purchase. These are really only useful when they work for the first few months then they get too long and big for it and developmentally need to learn to roll which they can't do strapped into the SNOO.

Bought it 4 years ago when it would regularly go on sale every 3 months from about 1000 to 800. It makes a difference. Instead of 30 mins your baby willfall asleep in 5-10. It's soothing with the white noise and rocking motion. I'd sleep faster if I had that.

Crazy to see inflation pricing. Sold it for what I paid for it. Even if you sell for a few hundred less it's worth paying a few hundred dollars for a year of better sleep.

once again, none of what you said is true. father of 4 kids here. flat head is definitely something that is happening more because of snoo. i don't care what the company says. i've seen it at the hospital a lot more often because of the snoo.

4 kids is enough for me to know what i'm talking about.

That is absolutely false statement. Our pediatrician said let the baby sleep and if they are hungry, babies will wake up. Don't listen to that guy

Once or twice??? Lucky you.
Even with a Snoo, I still get plenty of opportunities to bond in the middle of the night, every one or three hours. Lol. The Snoo only smooths out the easy part.

The Snoo is a game changer. Our daughter loved it. You'll all sleep better. If you're a physician or in the medical field contact them for an even bigger discount.

Physician here, the problem is there is theory and reality. In generalizing you can say one thing but not everyone is the same. Some babies gain weight better than others. If your baby is not gaining weight, I'm certain a pediatrician will recommend waking your baby up to feed and not waiting for them to cry out of hunger

I was initially skeptical at the ~$1500 cost but my wife wanted it. Managed to combine an Amex cashback deal with a Snoo rental discount to get the 6 month rental for ~$575. The Snoo arrived and appeared practically brand new as far as I could tell. The app and wifi set up was easy. Came with a small and medium new sleep sack. Newborn for the first 3 weeks on limited rocking setting and damn......the thing actually worked! Usually the baby would fall asleep within 2 minutes of starting up the Snoo and for the first 2 months, slept anywhere from 4 - 12 hours straight overnight. Dare I say, maybe it worked too well? When the Snoo tries to gently put your baby to sleep and it's not working, usually it's because their diaper needs changing or hungry. Just a few months ago, the Snoo received FDA clearance as a medical device to prevent SIDS. Won't be long before it becomes eligible for FSA reimbursement (maybe a couple years for insurance).
Overall, the Snoo has been fantastic and gave us back more sleep than we thought possible. At around 4 months, the sleep regression definitely hit and was also around the same time that my baby no longer slept with the Snoo rocking/white noise. We just use the Snoo as a fancy looking bassinet and strap in with the sack with one arm out to prevent SIDS. Totally worth it! When the rental ends, just have to package it back in the original box and shipping label. Goes back to the company where they'll sterilize the Snoo and we keep the sleep sacks.

One more thing, newborns needs to be fed every 2-3 hours around the clock. So for the first month or two, even if your baby is sleeping soundly asleep at 2am but it's been that 2-3 hour time frame, you'll have to wake the baby up and feed in order to gain weight and develop.
