Lids are part of the container. One container with a lid is a piece. That is how it is in rest of the world.

It is the attitude of accepting lids to be counted separately as normal that is allowing manufacturers to add small items just to prop up the piece count - 5 screw drivers and 100 screws - 105 piece screw driver set. Some products have pieces of tape counted as a piece. Another one - 2 suitcases and 7 packing cubes as 9 piece luggage set.

I bought two packs of these last bf. I use them daily and they are still like new. They aren't great in the freezer, you can use them in the freezer, but your food will still get frost on them. For normal everyday use they hold up well and seal tight. Would recommend.

the 2 large pieces are very big. You could easily fit an entire rotisserie chicken in the big one without disassembling it. I use it for chili all the time and I still haven't stained it.

Maybe if you are after pure quantity. The bigger sizes are what I am looking to add, plenty of the little ones

Good set. Was better when BF deals ran $5, not $10. Still decent. We use the large, medium & small ones. After a year, with occasional microwaving, they're ready to retire. Probably in for another this year.

I bought these in 2020, 2021, and 2022 and they came with the same pieces all of those years.

The problems with the small containers is that a) they give you sooo many more than you could ever need to tack onto the piece count, b) I use tupperware to store homemade food whereas store-bought condiments come in their own containers, and c) I barely use condiments anyway
Not to mention the scam of counting lids as pieces

Just like counting flats and drums as separate wings.

Yes and no. You can use in the microwave but if it goes long the sides will melt

I have the red set(s) - bought more than once. They wash well in the dishwasher until they don't. A few pieces have a white residue - which I assume is melted plastic. Ermm I started buying glass containers when I want to replace them. But then a container will fall out of an overpacked freezer and I remember why I keep buying these! The Amethyst color is nice! Same. I've had the red set for too many years, finally put them to rest after a chili recipe stained the remaining survivers. While they were great, it's so much better to get pyrex for cooking in, and they aren't much more expensive.

When the Rubbermaid sets go on sale at Target and Walmart, I really know the Christmas season has begun.

I keep hard-to-store tiny items in the smaller containers to get some sort of use out of them. It makes it easier than try to dig around a drawer or basket. There are too many in the set even still.

Sorta. Just don't microwave spaghetti or anything that might have oil/fat if you don't want the plastic to permanently stain. I've had issues with reheating meat-spaghetti sauces (red stains) and curry chicken (green-yellow stains). I've switched to glass based containers for sauces. OTOH, for storing extra cooked rice, these are fine.

Of course, never microwave with the lids on/covering. They will warp.

Wish the veggie saver racks could be added to these cheaply. We always need more veggie saver containers that suck up that gas and vent it outside keeping veggies good a week longer, sometimes 2 weeks longer.
