Got this when LG.com had a sale awhile back. Works great with my M2 Mac Mini.
Nice!

I have a M1 Mac Mini hooked up to my Asus 27" mentioned above.

How does this compare with the 32UN880?

https://www.costco.com/LG-32%22-C...ue&nf=true

Seems like they are same specs and the Amazon deal is much better?

350cd brightness ... pretty good for inexpensive IPS. There are some 250 nits IPS screens used in cheaper models ... avoid those.

Tough decision, this one or 43" LG IPS 4K for $370 on amazon
I replaced 2x 32" monitors in portrait mode with 1x 43" LG IPS in landscape, and it's been good. Not great, because it's an flat IPS monitor without amazing brightness for super cheap, but it's a solid monitor. For gaming, I prefer the widescreen 2k curved IPS monitors with high refresh rates, but for productivity work, I prefer the 43" 4k IPS. You need to have a proper desk for it, though -- it's a big monitor.

Multiple reports of the USB C connector breaking on the 32UN880.

43" is cumbersomely large.
32" is the sweet spot for large monitors IMO. 4k a must.

I have this monitor and it's almost great. But one thing that's horrible about it is after you hook up display through USB c the sound is also routed to the monitor. The speakers on the monitor suck. So I routed from the headphone Jack of the monitor to my receiver and it sounds horible because apparently the DAC in the monitor is doing the sound conversion. I resolved this problem by getting a stand alone DAC and hooked it up to my computer's USB port and send the sound through that. So now I have a superior DAC instead of a completely c***** one. I don't know if this is practical for all people and it's possible my monitor is defective.
You simply need to go to your audio mixer, usually in the tray, and select your output device. You dont need to do all the work arounds you did. You can simply return the sound output to whatever soundcard you were using previously.

Good price I've bought 2 at this price. At the sub 300$ price point this monitor is near impossible to beat for production.

Also it does decent at gaming as well on the side.

While it's not 120+hz it is a 4k panel, most gpus on the market other than the top 3 will have trouble getting to more than 60fps at 4k, so the additional refresh rate doesn't add alot since most of the frames would be mirrored.

Refresh rate lag isn't noticeable unless you're a 100+apm gaming pro.

Here's a glowing review for this monitor that breaks down why this monitor is amazing.

Same price on lg.com, if you have a epp/edu discount with them I belive you can knock 10% off.

A Mac Mini is what I'm using mine on. Honestly I haven't figured out how to make the monitor go to sleep, completely black. It seems to have a very low grey light when the monitor is asleep. I'm all confused what settings I go to to change that. Do you happen to know?

For gaming, video editing, watching 4k video, and some word processing, etc, is this a great monitor for those?

This is not great for gaming as it is only 60Hz.

This uses a DC power adapter, so it's a pass for me. If it used a standard PC power cord I'd probably buy two.
