Also this is a better deal than the older gen that was front page last week - 7640HS vs 7735HS - 4nm vs 6nm - better graphics Zen4 vs Zen 3+, higher clock AMD Radeon 760M vs 680M

No PC knowledge here. Is this good for a 10 year old who wants to play Fortnite, Minecraft and Roblox? Trying to get a PC and keep it relatively under $500

Cheap way to have a latest AMD processor with 2 USB4 supporting power delivery

I picked one up along with the 32g ram and the 1TB m.2 drive from Amazon

It would, but laptops are generally more useful for kids.

on aliexpress you can get the 7840HS with the 12CU on the APU and 8c16t instead of 6c12t for 350usd with aliexpress' 100 off 500 coupon from 11/11. No time machine but I bet they'll do something similar for Christmas.

It will be able to run all modern games and it will be very fast with the ram and drive in the post - if the person were doing some of the more graphic intense games you might want a Radeon 780 instead - but that 7940HS is $200 more ($550 vs $350) - I don't feel it's worth 60% more $$$ for the slight difference in speed. But for $350 it's a great little pc that won't take up much room. I am hooking mine up to 4x 4k 32" screens primarily for investing/finances and algorithmic trading purposes.

I'm waiting for the um780xtx to be sold on Amazon. The improved power brick, fixed wifi and the good oculink implementation have sold me. I plan to use it as a mac replacement running arch or Ubuntu for kubernetes dev. You can shove 96gb in any of these sodimm ddr5 minis

Do you think this would run BeamNG ok? I'm out of loop on gaming rigs since I build my setup to play World of Warcraft in 2001 😂

I was looking at the Beelink Ser6Max 1tb 32gb ram for about $430+tax. This would be about the same price but with better specs of course. But AZ has better return policy and I wouldn't have to buy a copy of Windows. Not sure how much Windows 11 is these days. Decision decision....

Has anyone gotten more than 64GB RAM on one of these?

I know that 48GB modules exist, would want to use those if possible.
