I'm seeing mixed reports on whether or not you can use standard 18650s in this. The SL-B26 appears to be approx. the same size as an 18650 but slightly longer for the built-in usb charging circuit. I'd assume the battery itself handles the low discharge protection since it's got the charging circuit right on top, so you'd probably need protected button-top 18650s if they would work at all.
