Warning: Wyze is a scummy company and notorious for bait and switch. They are the equivalent of printer companies with how they will sell you the gateway device cheap , with freebies and features initially, then switch most if not all features to paid / subscription model leaving the unit near worthless and useless unless you continue to pay fees perpetually.
Yeah wtf mate? None of this is my experience with Wyze
I have 2 Wize Pan cameras that are ALWAYS offline. Reboot and fine for a couple of hours, then back offline. They say to check power and network. Added another access point about 9 feet away and using the included power block. Nope. Swapped the power from a different Wize Came (V2 and OG). Nope. Offline.
Have automation to power cycle the unit 2x per day. It's still always offline. This is the 2nd unit. Both same issues. The OG, V2 and V3 have been great so far though.
Anyone have any tips?
Looking at the Pan V3, but hate to buy another problem.
This needs a whole troubleshooting diagram but..
Are they off or just offline? Could be something about your WiFi they don't like (too far for 5G or combined SSID? try a 2.4-only SSID), or something between them and the servers?
I have V2s and V3s all purchased at different times and no network issues with them on a stable 2.4Ghz net.
Don't see much of interest. Like Wyze products but tired that their app is always updating. So many times I have to download firmware and software so we all must be beta testers.
My Wyze Cam Pan v2 turned by itself occasionally. I changed my password and updated the firmware which didn't help. Was it hacked? I don't know. No longer using it.
I was a big fan of wyze when they first came out. Their cameras would give you reply of about 10 seconds of movement. Since then, they did away with this, the new cameras don't last, and they must work with a specific sd card in order to get nob subscription playback. They killed my loyalty to the brand. Better to stick with ring.

I've bought wyze products for years. Their cameras and pan cameras have been really good. How've they bait and switched?

The new cameras OG use RTOS...it's complete rewrite of previous Linux OS. Good performance
Meaning if I'm reviewing at 11:53, the most recent playback would go up to 11:48
What I see is about 1 minute is the closest to realtime that you can see sd card playback. But there's also live view, which is usually < 1s delay. So not a big deal, I think.
Wyze has a youtube video suggesting a $0 custom amount to unlock cam plus lite. That upgrades you to 12 second videos instead of screenshots, and gives person/etc detection, which the free version didn't have.
To add, I have two cameras: one with cam plus lite and one with the annual subscription. The lite one sends notifications once per 5 minutes when it detects something, but still records continuously to a microsd card. It does 12 second videos and can detect people and so on. This is generally all you need. If you think the 12 seconds is too short, go back to the playback and record your own video from it, or just watch what was going on around that timeframe that the original recording didn't include.
How do I know if I have the unlock cam plus lite or not? I still have that 12 second video but the issue is many times when I play it, it doesn't play. Is that normal? If there is motion say every minute, it would show every 5 minutes so is this what I have? I don't pay anything for it.
Now I have another wyzecam in another location and I share this wyzecam with other users in their house. They can view the wyzecam on their iphone. I control that wyzecam. The thing is they cannot look at the 12 second video but can they? I am pretty sure they don't have that cam plus lite but can they sign up now? But I would need to make one of their wyzecam accounts to be the main account right? And by doing that, I would then no longer be allowed to view the 12 second videos?
We also have another wyzecam as well. This wyzecam is controlled by someone else but that person did share the wyzecam with me. I cannot view any of the 12 second videos but that is normal right because it's only the main user of that wyzecam account? The other thing is that person cannot view the 12 second video but they can if they sign up for unlock cam plus lite or not? I remember a while back wyzecam allowed anyone with an account to get that free 12 second video but you had to sign up for it by a certain time and only I did... and not the other wyzecam accounts. So thoughts here?

Not my experience at all and i have 30+ various devices (moisture sensor, weight scale, motion sensors, bulb, indoor and outdoor plugs) over 2 years. They lack some features that take a while to update but overall great bang for the buck.
FYI - if you get this deal 'get a free Wyze Cam OG with the purchase of Wyze Cam Plus Unlimited annual plan' - the Cam OG will have no warranty at all. It happened to me with the same deal but with a doorbell camera. The doorbell camera only worked for couple months then died, 'couldn't connect' error. Wyze told me go fark yourself because you're stupid enough to get a free doorbell camera lol
Bull, you get a full warranty. You farked yourself
I have been using them since v1. They are decent cameras, however the critique is warranted. They touted their cameras as subscription-less only to switch to subscription to keep features and refused to grandfather the original devices. SD cards are fine for archive recording, but not practical for motion or alert monitoring.

Down vote if you want but this company makes it harder to use their products without the subscription with each new camera. They can't even standardize the user interface between their own models in the app. Cloud storage is a joke at only 2 weeks and is not continuous. Lots of complaints about missed events. Terrible track record of firmware updates bricking cameras, halted updates, and staggered updates because they don't test. The beta group is a joke where there is no direction or interaction so if you report something it's not likely to get fixed before they deploy. The v3 cams are actually pretty amazing once you install a custom firmware (easy) and see all the capability that Wyze is hiding or can't figure out how to sell as part of the subscription. -Also opens you up to using whatever software you want.
Got a link for the V3 firmware? I have a few of the V2 openmiko firmware flashed cameras that the wireless keeps going out on, if I power cycle them they will work for a while, usually less than 24 hours before they cut out again. I guess I will have to flash the USB firmware and run them that way to keep using them.
