Memory overclocking is a big one because SA and other voltages are locked on the non-K so you cant really OC anything. It'll be a slight bump in games and better in multi-thread apps. If anything if he wants to keep it stock just mess with undervolting, cpu lite load and/or LLC etc... and get them toasty temps down.

This CPU consumes many times more power! Supposedly mine only draws 52. How hot is my desk/room will become with this upgrade? Do people joke about space heater or Intel 12-14th gens are really that hot?

Then I started seeing a lot of people saying it was almost the same as I have so I didn't do it. Any suggestion?
If I undervolt to around the same tdp as 13700k, will it run about the same speed?

You may be able to squeeze 10C-20C with further tweaking. There are several videos online but the easiest would be CPU Lite Load on MSI boards. In the advanced cpu menu by default it should be around Mode 9. Even as simple as going to Mode 5 will be pretty good in temps like maybe 5-10C difference, going to Mode 3 even more. Mode 2-1 will be tricky as you may reach lack of power instability. So its a bit of testing for stability but you would shave off a bunch already and not messing with anything else.
I would disable Enhanced Turbo which is MSI's equivalent to Asus's Multicore Enhancement. If you're not having thermal issues then it'll probably be fine, if you're hitting hot temps then I'd leave this disable and manually oc my own settings. This is just presets to maxing all cores to a certain frequency and giving it a preset voltage.
The one that takes the most time and a lot of tweaking is probably undervolting, setting a - offset voltage and testing each setting along with finalizing with LLC levels. Some people just leave it at just the -offset values and call it a day, usually even a 0.025 or 0.050 will make a difference.
So overall from least effort to more time would be:
1. Disable Enhanced Turbo if your cooler cant handle it
2. MSI's CPU Lite Load (Default Mode 9, try for Mode 5, 3, even 1?)
3. Undervolt -voltage offsets, and LLC levels.
