Every color laser printer I've come across here has complaints for one reason or another. Is there not a particular model that most people would recommend?
Looking at $150 - $200 to replace all 4 toners with generic. Pass.
Looks like the prices are slowly dropping. Amazon is still high but you can find some websites that sell 067H 4 pack toners for ~$100 already (~87 if coupon is used, I am not familiar with the website/seller though but it appears to be legit on first glance).
If printers would go back to normal pricing ~150-180 for this I would already jump on this. I have the previous model of this 64XCDW version and it has been good to me.

046h class Canons are the last of the cheap toner carts ($50-$70 for CMYK hi cap). I'm keeping my mf733cdw until it dies. I think I paid like $270 in late 2019 for it. So if you can find a refurb the only real thing the 743/753 has brought is new generation of chipped expensive toner. Legit.

I have the 634 and can buy a new printer for what the toner costs. Not sure where you are seeing hi cap for $50 that actually work? Not OEM toner, they run double/triple that.

Why I can only find over $100 for just one color? Where did you find such low price?

Dunno about particular models, but Brother brand printers are usually the go-to recommendation around here.

Really!?, I was wondering the same thing. It seems that people complain that the Brother printers give low output of the cartridges. That may have been only for the inkjets though.

Nothing is perfect... people will always complain about something.
