I paid $25 per toner cartridge recently so it cost me only $100 to replace all.
Got mine from trueimagetech.com and there is a 50% off coupon out there.

Bought this 2 years ago? For the same price. Not a good printer leaves a streak almost an inch wide down the center of everything I print, ink is insanely overpriced, and it will CONSTANTLY tell you you're low or out of ink about 2 months in and the cartridge lasts another 2 months before any quality starts to degrade. Would not recommend unless it was 100-150.

People seem to really like Brothers printers due to the cheap consumables, reliability and low upfront costs. Color print quality is middle of the road.

Have a similar older model and I haven't had to change the timer until recently 3 years, even then I got all toner replacements on Amazon for under $100 (off brand but works great)

I use LD Products toner for Canon and Brother machines. It is not OEM but a few times a year they give coupons and I can get the CMYK hicap for under $100. They have never given me an issue and quality right up there with OEM. I had a bad cart once, they shipped a new one to my house no questions asked.

I agree toner costs are horrible, the only change in the last two Canon generations is to make the DRM in the toner harder to defeat. They are just putting themselves out of business. They could just make them affordable but they dont they use the dead Gillette razor and blade model.

Legit best printer purchase I have ever made personally. Went through inkjet nonsense for decades getting ripped off. Bought this thing 3 years ago, have printed hundreds of color pages and haven't had to replace the toner yet. The complaint that toner is expensive is legit, but for me at least that combination of high capacity before having to replace and the fact that it at least seems to not fail if you go without using it for weeks or months at a time is a huge benefit. I wasted so much money over the years in ink that would dry out or fail because I went a few months without using it. For that alone I will take this.

Plus the ADF for scanning has been reliable and has useful emailing etc... features. I wish I had gotten a laser printer a decade ago.
