oooh, that sounds tempting. samsung offered the 980 2tb for $90 during this past summer.

i know the sn850x is better (i know most of us wouldn't be able to tell the difference irl), but is it worth waiting for samsung to maybe offer the deal again?

You can consider t500 @102$ one of the fastest ssd but not that good in heavy writes

Is the heatsink really required for gaming and light AI usage (4090 self-hosted)?

I wouldn't install one of these top-tier drives without a heatsink because they do generate real heat but most motherboards include a heatsink that is adequate.

I posted this for those in a hurry, but I'm waiting for BF deals too. The 850x is what I'm hoping for, but there are a few others. I'll just compare what's on sale to what I need. Heavy gaming, video processing, and file transfers. One thing I really hate when transferring large files is getting choked up. So that's my main 3 things I'll be looking out for.

As a point of reference, these dipped to $99 at Best Buy and B&H Photo recently on Prime Day

According to CCC, Amazon had these at $89.99 a few months ago.
