Wondering if I should pull the trigger or wait for BF deals, thoughts?
I've been waiting for a deal like this for a few months. I've seen a couple, but they sell out quickly. Not missing on this one so I pulled the trigger. The Black Friday cheapie add-ons sealed the deal for me.

Isn't the 7800xt faster than the 4070 on average? Any reason to go 4070 for more money?

Looking to buy this for my kid. It's been a while since I upgraded his PC. He currently runs a 6650xt.

Is there a reason not to upgrade CPU to 7900X for $10 more? Mainly looking for CAD rig and not much for gaming. Also, can anyone comment on the PSU and if it should be swapped for a better one?
The x3d it notably better in games. Check out gamers nexus videos.

Thoughts on upgrading CPU to 7950x, GPU to 7900XTX and PSU to 1000 watts for final price $2,061?

7800 XT is overall better when you don't use ray tracing. The moment you turn that on, in maximum games, RTX 4070 wins.

Really depends on how much ray tracing matters to you. Ray tracing will greatly reduce your FPS in any game that utilizes it, but it doesn't drop as much on the 4070. Otherwise, 7800XT beats it in all other use cases.

Personally, I like the way ray tracing looks, but I think it's a bit too early for the current gen GPUs. Too much of a performance drop when enabled, even for 4000 series cards unless you pay $$$ for a 4090.

If it's just for gaming then you won't see a $500 difference in performance.

The special BF deal on the top when you customize your components.
