Only buy gamestop gift cards if u plan to use immediately. I was saving mine & they needed to b reactivated & miraculously had no $ on them when i called to reactivate. Will never buy another gamestop gift card. Between that & the pro points that they also don't reactivate, I lost at least $200.

Bought 20 of the $25 gift cards at Dollar General. Local store policy said gift cards were cash only (a policy at the store manager's discretion). A little annoying but I just had the clerk hold onto them while I ran other errands and stopped by an ATM.

Cards ran up as $25 but came out to only $400 after totaling all 20. Took about 3 minutes for the register to process all the cards and I was GTG.

15 min to redeem them at Microsoft.com (1/3 card codes were poorly aligned and hard to read)


TLDR: Xbox Series X โ€“ Forza Horizon 5 bundle ($439.99) + 6% Sales Tax ($26.50) - 20% (DG gift cards) = $373.19 woot

I had the same issue. The register wasn't discounting it properly. The manager was on the phone with someone trying to figure it out for a while. In the end, the manager had to charge the $50 and then give $10 cash back separately. It was a hassle.

I have both and some times i feel the xbox run the same game better, there is a bunch of exclusives too, that's why I have both.

Detroit area said they could not sell any gift cards due to "systems issues" โ€ฆ no $ on them. Apparently for multiple days with no resolution. Chain is a joke.

Snagged Taco Bell, Jersey Mikes, and Panera at my local DG. Asked a clerk if I could use self checkout for POSA and she told me yes, but they've have to override. Moment I scanned a open value card it required a clerk to log in and input my desired card value. Discount came off when paying. Had to double check receipt as they summarized the 20% discount by which group promo they fell under.

Be aware. Some locations only take cash (even though no sign is posted) so ask before you select your cards instead of wasting your time
