This X60 system is good, and I had it for a few years. I upgraded to the AXE5300 which also goes on sale 11/20, but it's $270 after discount. I posted the AXE5300 deal also so search for that. Most seem to opt for the 5300 now

My iot devices need to be on 2.4G. would this be a good one? 'single wifi/passwd' thing makes me worried.

Just out of curiosity, which asus? My issue I pinned down for IOT, specifically Eufy's and the app. If a notification was there or you accessed the cameras on the opposite band, it crashed the "internet" side, regardless of wifi being present. My older asus never had an issue.

I have had old budget routers from Asus all worked like a charm. Decided to go all out and got the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Tri-Band. Looks like a beast of a router the range amazing speeds amazing however it started to randomly disconnect. I had a little hanged out and peoples internets disconnected. My brother told me to just separate all of them and I decided to contact tech support. They did help, but than the disconnections kept happening.

I by all means dont mind troubleshooting, but if I am going to spend that kind of money I rather just return it. They wanted me to fill something I was you know i am still in the open window to return. The only thing I truly didn't do was use 3 separate connections (its like tech support guided me to some trouble shoot and it puts them together yet separate, but issues still happened). I saw this deal and I was maybe this would be better plus I would save some money.

My iot devices need to be on 2.4G. would this be a good one? 'single wifi/passwd' thing makes me worried.
I purchased this X60 system on a Costco sale 3 years ago to replace an erratically performing Netgear Orbi system (which I returned). I replaced my Verizon FiOS router completely with the X60, and along with the 2 satellites, it has been reliably supporting a wired network through a 24-port switch and also distributing WiFi across a 70-foot wide 2-level home, plus a 1/2 acre yard, without hiccups. In terms of iot devices at 2.4G, I have at least 2 dozen wireless clients running on the network at any given time (smart speakers, robot vacs, cameras, garage doors, plugs, streaming devices, network storage, PCs, phones, and more).

When I first got it, I did have a few hiccups that disappeared when I replaced the old D-Link switches under 2 desks. Apparently TP-Link and D-Link don't always play nice. Now everything is TP-Link and runs smoothly.

The X60 may actually be more than I need, but that being said, it's 3-year-old technology, so if money is no object, then I can certainly see trying to "future-proof" by getting the newer XE5300 that supports 6GHz. Either way, they both work with the Deco app which is pretty easy to use once you set it up. You get all the usual network and WiFi controls and a lot of good diagnostics, plus QoS to prioritize apps or devices, and some useful alerts. You can enable filters for malicious content, intrusion prevention, or quarantine. You can add smart devices to control from the app. And there are parental controls. I was thrilled to get rid of the Verizon FiOS router.

I just installed a X55 system at my mother's house and they give you an option to create a separate wifi network specifically for IOT devices (2.4Ghz and weaker encryption by default if needed, but you can customize it). Overall everything has worked great for us, rooms are concrete block walls and we still get really good coverage at all rooms and floors, if positioned correctly.

Are you using wired backhaul, or wireless? Ideally the mesh nodes should all be connected using Ethernet for best performance. If you absolutely must use wifi to communicate between them, make sure they use whichever frequency is least used (use a wifi analyzer to find the best channel) and ensure none of your other wifi stuff uses the same channel.

In the same boat and I believe you can add these with no issues.

Yes, You can add these to a M9+ network through the Deco app. but the X60 inst tri band like the M9+ is. The X68 would be a better option to add to a Deco M9+ network, they are tri-band.

If you are have a hard wired back haul on your M9+ then tri band doesnt really matter use these x60's. Otherwise if you are a wireless M9+ mesh network get more tri band TP Link mesh routers to pair with the M9+ for the fastest network speeds.

I am using the 5300, and the range is not as advertised. 1200 sq ft house needs 2 hub and still have connection issues. I'll try out this router as the price of the 5300 does not seem to proof any better.
