In the last eight years I've lived in six apartments across the DC Metro and Los Angeles - each has ONLY allowed one carrier - Comcast in the DMV and Spectrum in LA. It's so incredibly annoying.

Damn it, V fios still hasn't available in my area even after 5 years.

The two worst providers. I noticed it's a trend among apartment complexes to have exclusivity agreements with the worst providers in the area. I'm assuming they get paid well for that

I'm at the southern most part of Northern Virginia and we just got fios to my neighborhood this year after waiting 10 years for them to come. I found out Verizon was done running fiber in 2015 and wasnt planning any further suburban projects due to costs. COVID changed all that. An infusion of federal cash to build out infrastructure to underserved and rural communities Kickstart verizon into rolling out more fiber. It took them 2 years, 3 contractors and a lot of delays to finish our neighborhood of 146 homes. I may just have to try out this deal.
