The resolution is higher in go pro and you can tell the difference. But the go pro 11 from my use did get hot and I saw reviews that 12 has the similar problem. Go pro batteries did take a while to charge and they are not usb c. I am in the same dilemma so I am trying to look at all my use cases and see which one will better suit me. Hope it helps.

It all depends on your use case.

The GoPro 12/11 has a higher resolution (5K), but the OSMO has a better sensor, a bigger battery, and does not get hot.

Another big thing is the accessories, most are not compatible.

All in all, they are very similar in a lot of features, most of the differences are in the fringe of the capabilities of the camera.

Which camera are "Most not compatible?" Just a general statement saying you can't interchange between OSMO and GOPRO?

Getting one for daughter for a snorkeling trip.

I think it's a general statement. If you don't already have some high value accessories, you can buy any of them. GoPro has better direct output picture quality during the day, and Action 4 have better low light. Action 3 is also good, and cheaper now.
General accessories connecting through the action camera screw mount will work for both of them.

What do you mean the go pro batteries are not USB-C?

I was researching a few months ago and the YouTube videos i saw showed that the GoPro has better image quality and stabilization; video stabilization is the most salient factor for me in an action camera so i went with GoPro.

I have to gopro 5 and a gopro 9 and I'm just not very happy with the battery life and most of the comparisons I have seen on YouTube say the DJI action cam's are better, that being said I ordered one and received an additional $20 off and the entire kit came to $241.49. good deal and repped.
