There are a few places that do. They rely on "breakage" with the MIR's. Menard's does 11% with nearly all purchases but they are regional. The biggest problem with Kohl's is that many of these appliances are cheap to buy anyway. They buy a bunch in bulk for a cheap price, jack up the price and then give you % off plus the Kohl's cash BS. Not worth it.
I know in Connecticut, if the store advertises the price including the rebate amount, they are required to deduct that in store purchase at the register

Rebates

When advertising a rebate, the law specifies that retailers who advertise the net price (after-rebate price) of an item should credit the consumer the amount of the rebate at the time of purchase.
I'm not against MIRs but I don't see them anymore. Is Kohl's one of the last places to use them?

That happens frequently with these rebates. Contact the rebate center at:

https://www.kohlsrebates.com//#/contact

and you should be able to get them to fix it and send you another card for $12.00. Be sure that you saved copies of what you sent in, since they might ask for that.
I'd contacted Kohl's rebate center twice; both times the reps said it's Kohl's corporation the one who will fix the issue, not Kohl's rebate center, which is bs. I'd called Kohl's corporation twice; one time the rep said it's Kohl's rebate center to correct the issue; other time the rep said it's manufacturer's rebate, that Toastmaster is the one that offered the rebates, and gave me a number to call (720-439-5050) which turns out the number for Toastmaster International, a non-profit organization, another bs. I'll definitely avoid "Kohl's rebate offers" next time. Now heading to BBB to file a complaint for Kohl's corp LOL

Yes, what the rebate center told you is false. They are the only ones who can fix the rebate. Not Kohl's, not Toastmaster. BBB sounds like your best option at this point.

I've done this rebate over the years and never had an issue.

This year I sent the rebate in early December. Last week I attempted to check with my name and came up blank. I then used the chat to talk to a rep. She said there was no record of my rebate. Thankfully I make copies of everything.

She then said the 2 options were to fax the copy or send it. I faxed and was emailed a few days ago the fax was received with a tracking number.

To save anyone else who has a problem I will give the info the rep gave me in the chat.

Fax Instructions:

On the cover sheet add your name, address, email address, promotional code (23-19464), telephone number and a note explaining the situation regarding your lost mail and us having to manually create the record.

Then add the copy of your rebate submission.

Our fax number is (866) 964-1214

or

Mailing Instructions:

Add a printout of the same cover sheet and copy of your rebate submission.

The resubmission address:

I sent in 7 this year, and 6 of them were trackable online. I ended up getting all 7 prepaid cards, even though I never got an e-mail about one of them (and never could find it on their tracking site).
