Here's my take:
MSI - Cheapest. Good specs. God-awful physical design, but luckily that's all on the rear of the product, and I plan to mount it so the big ugly stand will sit in a closet. Has a KVM, which will be great for connecting the work laptop.
INNOCN - 2nd place. There is apparently no quick KVM feature. If you wanna do PIP or PBP, you have to hit up the menu. Brightest monitor in the bunch. Second cheapest.
Deco Gear - Tempting to chase pixel count, but at the very top of my price range, it's just not worth it, especially with that 75 hz refresh rate.
Monoprice - No listed AdaptiveSync. 8-bit panel. No listed PIP/PBP/KVM. Still more expensive than the MSI.
AOPEN - Just way too expensive, especially for another 8-bit panel. Not sure if that's 8-bit + FRC, but at that price it doesn't really matter. Plus it's white (barf).

Here's my take:

This replaced my 27" Nixeus Edg V2 ("IPS?", adaptive sync to 144hz, 300nits) and 27" BenQ GW2765HT (IPS, 60hz, 350nits). I sit about the standard arm's-length away from the monitor.
This monitor is certainly immersive and started my jump into UW. It's large, and I need to move my head to see opposite ends. Being a flat IPS screen, colors are a bit off and faded when looked at from an offset angle from the monitor. I think it's very minimal if you look at it from the center and look to the sides, so I recommend only sitting front, center, and level with this monitor.
I like to have my space open - it's great to have documents open next to two browser windows and perhaps a video playing on YouTube. On Windows 10, there is a setting to make text clearer, which I've had on for years, so I don't see any issue with productivity work using Windows applications or standard browsers.
The colors in games are what you'd expect with an IPS panel - they're smooth with very little banding, and I haven't noticed black smudging. I play in a small computer room with one window, so lighting is like "apartment lighting." There is the standard IPS edge glowing in dark scenes, but rarely am I looking at those far edges as I sit centered. I play <2017 games like Sims, Fallout series, Planet Coaster, and ~2000s games like Rollercoaster Tycoon, Half Life, and PS2 emulations. For FPS, I'll lightly play Day of Defeat (hah) or CS GO, COD, Insurgency. I feel that 300 nits works great for my setup. I recall needing to turn down the brightness of the BenQ because it was too bright in pure darkness.
Lastly, and most importantly, if you are unable to shift your POV to the center and are also not a fan of windowed mode for such games, then get a curved monitor. Games like Frostpunk or This War of Mine - no way I'd play those full screen up close on a flat 40inch.
In short:
-Great monitor, great colors
-Any issue should be with the size and shape
-(imo) Curved 40 IPS >>> Flat 40 IPS
-(imo) Curved 40 IPS > Flat 32-34 OLED
-(imo) Flat 40 IPS > Curved 32 IPS
-(imo) Flat 40 IPS ~ Curved 34-40 VA
-(imo) Flat 40 IPS ? Curved 40 IPS depending on price.
-This monitor is excellent for the price, I'd say better than the Monoprice 40 inch or other flat IPS seen this season
-300 nits is great for 10x10ft room + 1 window
-Head movement needed to see full screen <5ft away
-No issues with PPI or fuzzy text
-Recommended for productivity or games where required POV is the middle 70% of the monitor
-I chose this for the price and will wait until a curved 40 inch IPS at 100+ PPI is less than 800
-Feels like 2016 all over again with TN/VA/IPS 24"-27" debate!

Biggest reason was the lack of a curve. It felt like it was an inverse curve when splitting screen left and right. Hard to explain but if you told me it had an inverse curve I would have believed it after trying to use it. Also it appeared more grainy than the LG. Maybe it was the extra 5"?
Everything else I liked better than my LG. If they curved this I would have kept it.
