Magsafe is good when you are using portable power bank vs power bank with cable to plug to iphone port. Its slower but you pay for convenience not having cable while on the go. Also magsafe is good when you are in your car since it's also double as a phone mount, but for home? Can't see why…
Charging speed? That's a valid difference, but if you're at home, do you really need to charge super fast?

So, just like you think it's silly to use MagSafe at home, I think it's silly to use MagSafe with power banks in most cases.
Here's the kicker. Neither is wrong, both have merits, and use cases and context matter.
I personally got a Belkin Wireless Qi charging stand to use at night. It's both rated higher at 10w and produces less heat than the MagSafe stuff.
Using MagSafe while in bed is such a huge improvement and so much more convenient. Frayed lightning cables are in the past. I can rest the phone on my chest and not kink the cable while getting stabbed with the connector. Now it rests on the phone itself. I can rotate the charger so the cable points in the most comfortable position while I lay on my side. When I'm falling asleep and it's time to set my phone down, I can reach over with one hand and the magnet snaps into place with my eyes closed. As opposed to having to use 2 hands and find the port. Highly recommend.
Good to know, thanks for the info!
