Apple Music and Tidal both offer lossless music compared to YT's compressed, lossy tracks. And while Spotify is slightly lower quality than those two, it still streams at a higher bit rate than YT. It's also the best for finding new artists and sharing music/playlists with friends. Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify all three offer Dolby Atmos. YT does not.
In fairness, YT music does have two advantages. One, because it can play any music uploaded to YT, not just official releases, there's a lot of stuff you can find on YT Music that you can't find on other streaming platforms, like covers or live performances (though sound quality may not be great for the latter). And second, YT premium that gets you YT Music and add-free YouTube videos is a pretty good deal if you're a regular YouTube viewer. Those are both compelling advantages. But at it's core function, playing high quality music, YT Music is unfortunately back of the pack.

I was offered 5 months also. Been an on and off subscriber so its not just for new users.
