Eley products are not for everyone but if you care for high quality watering tools, it doesn't get much better. Also, to my knowledge, Eley products very rarely go on sale or get discounted.

+1. best hose reels evah. Prob not a lot of takers here but I have had one since 2013 and it's rock solid and just picked up another one a few days ago for a different bib.
Only buy ALL aluminum reels. Buy an Eley and you might never buy another reel in your life.

As a casual gardener, over about 10 years I went through 4 reels. 1 was plastic, the others steel. They were all not cheap, but they ultimately were all absolutely crap. Each lasted 2-3 years. The steel ones, even an expensive powder coated model from AM Leo, all rusted out and fell apart. I tried many different designs.

Eley was the only one made with ALL aluminum and brass. Paid a LOT for it (4-wheel hose cart with no-flat wheels) but after the last ~10 years it's still in near perfect condition, no joke. As long as Eley remains all aluminum, I will never buy another brand, assuming this beast ever wears out!

They did not sell hoses when I bought my reel, so I cannot speak to those.

I'm in, been wanting one of these for a long time but wasn't willing to pay the price. I've never seen them go on sale before.

For those who have purchased before, recommendation between wall mount and 2-wheel? I currently have a stationary one from Costco not mounted. Not sure I can see myself wheeling it around but also not sure about mounting to brick wall. Just interested in opinions. Thanks.

Never in my life did I think I'd buy such an expensive hose reel. I gotta admit I do hate the ones I have and it's time to replace them.

Again…buy once, cry once. You will not regret it. I detached them from my last house before listing it for sale just so I could take them with me. I have two and they are built like a tank. I don't expect that I will ever have have to buy another one.

In as well. Have been debating between hoselink and eley. Knew full well the plastic hoselink would likely just fall apart, but was gonna see if BF deals would change my mind.
It certainly did.
Eley with 20% off is just something I couldn't pass up.

Only found out about Eley hose reel after reading Slickdeals thread years ago. Better to invest in a quality hose reel than replacing these cheap plastic ones year after year. I have my Eley hose reel for about 7-8 years now and it still looks and works like new. Highly recommend.

The only time I wheel it around is when I store it for the winter. Have a 100ft hose on it so it's pretty heavy to lift without the wheels. I personally wouldn't want to drill into my home.

Eley is better than plastic crap but they are far from the best.
Look at Cox and/or Reelcraft reels if you really want "buy once, cry once"
I have a few Eley reels and the lack of a hose guide with a 3/4" rubber hose makes them frustrating to use every time. They are OK with a short lightweight 5/8 hose if you have a small property.

Anyone use the wall mounted one with an electric pressure washer connected to it?

That Eley price is great but I wish they made a swivel one instead of being fixed.

I bought this Liberty one 5+ years ago made of steel and aluminum for $108. Definitely no Eley build, but pretty dang great for the price. It's held up well with powder coated and the aluminum build part. Looks like out of stock now from a BF price, but there are other models although I think this one is only one with some aluminum build.

It's nice to pull house straight out from wall to front yard or swivel it around to the side or backyard. Makes it easier to reel too.

Just another idea for folks in similar boat, but again this Eley price is great. If they had a swivel option I'd be all over that!

Make sure you winterize your Eley reel. I left mine outside and it froze. The part that connects to the hose popped off and wasn't covered by the warranty.

Oooh dang really?! That's good to know. Disconnecting at that point sounds important. That's too bad though it didn't hold up or covered?! On their home page they tout their warranty and customer service I would have expected at least a "one time courtesy" offer.

I thought the reel was so high quality that it didn't need to be winterized and I don't think I saw anything that said it needed to be so I left it outside without doing anything to it. I thought they would give me a courtesy replacement but they did not. I had to buy a replacement part for $27.50.

I had the same issue after leaving the reel charged during a deep freeze. In the spring I noticed it was leaking at the connection but Eley sent me the upgraded connector for free. I guess I got lucky. Other than that Eley hoses/hose reels are top notch and I would've paid for the connector myself. Can't really fault Eley for my mistake.
