As a casual gardener, over about 10 years I went through 4 reels. 1 was plastic, the others steel. They were all not cheap, but they ultimately were all absolutely crap. Each lasted 2-3 years. The steel ones, even an expensive powder coated model from AM Leo, all rusted out and fell apart. I tried many different designs.
Eley was the only one made with ALL aluminum and brass. Paid a LOT for it (4-wheel hose cart with no-flat wheels) but after the last ~10 years it's still in near perfect condition, no joke. As long as Eley remains all aluminum, I will never buy another brand, assuming this beast ever wears out!
They did not sell hoses when I bought my reel, so I cannot speak to those.

If you think you're saving money on a plastic Suncast reel, wait until it tangles for the 1000th time because the crap plastic is far weaker than your garden hose, or it bends/flexes and falls over when you're just trying to drag it back to the garage, and maybe hypothetically in a fit of rage you olympic hammer toss that garbage across your yard....and it dents your car. Hypothetically.
I still have my existing hoses that I can use (maybe 5 year old hose), and I only need the hose reel. The 75' hose comes up to be $115 more including the 25% discount. Is it worth it to get the hose?
A quick search on Amazon also shows a 75' flexzilla 5/8" to be only $55.
Any trouble with cold weather/winter? Curious on if they require any maintenance that is exacerbated by it being attached to the wall? Honestly mounting it sounds way better but I have commitment issues. 😁

As you would do with anything with water left above ground in a cold climate
Had a good laugh at the poster above who thought because the reel was expensive it wouldn't need to be winterized. Common sense lacking in the world today.
They used to sell their hoses on Amazon and the best way to get a deal was to buy discounted gift cards around the Holidays (for example when some supermarkets give you a $15/$20 coupon for buying any $100 gift card.)
Was already in the market to get another hose, but now I'm tempted to get a reel as well.
