"Usually"? Never seen that beyond when they discontinue items.
Um, I was responding to a comment SPECIFICALLY critiquing the aesthetic. That's why I mentioned the looks.

This company is very, very highly regarded among "backpackers". Go to the OneBagger subreddit and look up reviews and posts — AER is considered one of the very best designers of backpacks / travel bags around. You can also check YouTube where you'll see they have a cult following and are quite consistently ranked as some of the best bags you can buy. The Travel Pack was voted #1 by a large publication too (I forget, I think it was Men's Health or GQ or something).

The materials they use are top notch and will last you many, many years. I watched a YouTube review where the guy said he dragged his back across the pavement in a city to test the durability and it didn't have a single scratch. It's made with materials used in bulletproof vests I believe. Extremely high quality and well designed, and again, just look up any YouTube breakdowns to see the level of love AER gets.

My concern is that the xpac might be noisy haha and not sure how I feel about the orange interior.

I've been going back and forward between the city pack and city pack pro.
I have the Travel Pack 3 in X-Pac and absolutely love it. I travel a ton for work, and literally just got back from 8 days in Medellin, Colombia. I've never had an issue with the pack being excessively noisy, and the bright orange interior is great for visibility. Expensive, but a fantastic product.

Buy once, cry once.

Thank you for the feedback. I am considering getting the city pack regular size and a travel pack 3 later down the road. That way I have one for everyday carry and one for travel.

Anybody have any thoughts on getting the Aer Day Sling vs the Alpaka Go Sling Mini? I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. My daily is a Lululemon EBB and I wanted to get a larger bag for those times I need to carry more a little more.
I got an alpaka bravo sling limited edition and it might be something you want to look at. It's very comfortable and is pretty much my EDC unless i need a daypack.

I have the AER City Pack Pro. Love it as an EDC. Highly recommend. I also decided to get the Day Sling 3 Max to try out.

I purchased a Fit Pack 3 last year for the gym/work. It is a nice bag, but just a tad too small to be practical. It was hard to fit a pair of dress pants and a sweater in the front compartment with shoes in the underneath. Also, it does not have a water bottle holder which is weird. I purchased a Duffel Pack 3 about 6 months ago because of those shortcomings. The duffel is just a larger version of the Fit 3. Those extra couple of cubic inches (and two water bottle holders) make all the difference and can hold anything I am wearing that day plus gym shoes. It really is a great bag. After 6 months, still looks new, even after all the gym visits. Highly recommend their bags, just make sure you get the right sized one!

As for the tech side, the fit 3 does have a better laptop compartment. It opens all the way were the duffel only does the 3/4 zip and eliminated one of the pouches on the inside. The fit also has an extra notebook compartment were the duffel does not. Both fit my macbook, a notebook and some cords no problem.

That's nice and all. But not going to buy a backpack just to get compliments from others. That's cringe. What about functionality?

I have the fit pack 3. I agree it's a bit small if you're using the shoe compartment (I have size 12.5 shoes so it takes up space) but if you don't put shoes in then I've had no issues with fitting a couple changes of clothes. I think it's really designed to hold lighter gym clothes, not thicker clothes that will take up space like sweaters.

Do you like carrying the duffel pack around the gym? I was thinking of getting one for weekend travel but am torn between that or the Weekender duffel bag or even the City Pro backpack.

In terms of the water bottle holder for the Fit Pack 3…it actually has two, one on each side. There are flaps on the side. You pull them out and the water bottle inserts very nicely. It doesn't hold massive flasks but I think they said it goes up to 20oz or maybe 24oz, I forget.

Yeah this is a solid deal. Aer products really never goes on sale apart from BF.
For those that are wondering, quality materials and functionality without compromising design are the prime reason people buy aer products.

Honestly, the duffel isn't that much larger than the fit. The fit feels like a kids backpack size and the duffel is closer to an adult. For me, it is much smaller than the actual duffel bag I was using at the gym and that was awkward to bring into work.

I do use this bag as an overnighter and it works really well. I am a huge fan of packing cubs and if you pair the two together you can get a ton of stuff in the front zip.

In addition to the two water bottle holders, I have one of those ninja's for my protein shakes and it holds those large tumblers just fine. You also get two zip pockets above the water bottle holders.

I considered both but the fact that the Alpaka is so slim and its pockets don't really expand and allow for thicker objects pushed me towards the Day Sling 3 (xpac), which expands but still lays pretty flat if you don't pack it out. Honestly, I loved it during a recent international trip. Would choose again.

Will the city pack pro stand up by itself when placed on the ground?

For those prices I'll stick with Chrome Industries or Equilibrium USG (Urban Survival Gear).
