If your car (head radio unit) has wired Android Auto or/and Carplay capability, this device makes it wireless. So it basically makes the connection between your car and your android phone or your iPhone wireless. Instead of plugging in USB cable from your car to your phone every time to make connection, you plug this device in to your USB port on your car, and the connection to your phone would be wireless.

Hopefully I won't confuse you even more.

Purchased 2 on the last deal, got pretty scared after seeing some of the comments that this is a shill post and these aren't good but I've been running one in my car and one in my wife's car for CarPlay for the last 2-3 weeks and they work just as good as the Motorola MA1 worked for me which I believe is pretty universally regarded as the best Android Auto device. Also a whole lot easier to setup. No regrets so far.

Biggest drawback which is Pass for me: you cannot pair this with multiple phones. Some other similar devices have that functionality

I have this and it works well. Remember the car needs to have wired Android auto capability for this to make it wireless

Ordered 2. One for my Jetta and one for the wife's sq5. So far so good. Sucks to keep it plugged in. I noticed the Led light is always on. Kind of worried it may drain a battery dead. We shall see

Bought this at the last SD sale at ~$80. Sent it back after 2 weeks because it was unreliable - constantly dropping connections; resets itself often when directions changed. I tried fiddling with settings per their recommendations but no dice. For reference, I used it for apple carplay in a 2018 Alfa Giulia (curious if anyone else with a chrysler/jeep/dodge had similar issues).

I would imagine this to also decrease audio quality. Wired connection is best tbh, charges your phone and provides higher quality audio.

If you can hear the basically imperceptible difference between wired and wireless Carplay (especially in a car), you should go work in high end audio. Wireless is not the same as Bluetooth

I got mine almost a week ago and i'm shocked at how well it works with my car. Set up was easy as well. I was afraid about performance and other things from reading this thread, but it was probably the best $38 I've spend in a while. No more cords and I can't tell any difference from my previous wired version at all.
