You can buy now and wait to use the license when your current one expires.

The only difference (unless bundled with other items specifically) is that Family Pack supports more devices (15).

To extend your subscription, it has to be the exact same one. If you already have Family Pack and add Internet Security, you will have two concurrent subscriptions.
