This is an external hard drive, so it only connects to one PC at a time. You have to connect it to the first PC, then create a file share from there.

What's so special about this drive that justifies it being so expensive for mere 12TB when you could have 18TB for $200?

Yeah I just bought an "enterprise class" seagate 20tb bare drive the other week for $270 and tossed it in an enclosure. This enclosure does look much nicer but there are better options out there price-wise.
