How many ads are we talking about here?
Somewhere between a whole lot and a shit ton.

If you use a browser with uBlock, then zero.

Roughly what you'd find on any OTA TV channel.

Watching primarily from AppleTV. I can continue to get all the Hulu shows from the place we don't talk about, but thought maybe I'd be an upstanding citizen. Not ready for normie levels of ads.

are people coming back and then buying the no ad add-on? I remember hulu had like 4-5 ads in a 30 min TV show, but don't know if it got worse or better.

On average for me it's 60-90 second commercials roughly the same time you'd see them on regular cable TV. So a very similar experience to that. What's nice is that they put a timer up so you know how long you have to do whatever else during that time. Non-ads of course better, but for $1/mo I don't mind ads at all.

I am holding out... Paying to watch ads is not my thing. Breaking up the continuity of a movie or show really disturbs any potential immersion.

Maybe you are watching something different or just confusing me.
Ad supported tier is paid for by ads, there are a bunch of reddits on how to try to skip ads but those are useless if you are watching on the app on a phone or xbox or fireTV or roku.
Not useless if you are watching on the app on a phone. Go to your phone. Download and install Ublock Chrome browser extension. Open Hulu in Chrome. Login. Cast to TV. Play your favorite show. No ads. (Thank you, Ublock!)

someone convince me of all the shows/movies hulu has that makes this a no brainer. i know it's super cheap but still. money wasted is money wasted. Or is there a wiki or article or something that tells me what they have is worth it?

So much excitement for a commercial intense platform with very limited offering. People spending hours on phones and everything. Wild. I would get it maybe if it was ad free. Waiting for a deal on that
