I think they are giving these out to clear out the overstock. The expiration dates have been extended as initial dates were based on then available testing and research. Now they have more testing and research done so they can safely extend dates. Initially they had to err on side of caution which makes sense to me. Just my opinion.
If you received the last batch than you obviously also received the pamphlet they sent that states the expired tests are safe and accurate to use, yeah? There's plenty of things to criticize a government about that don't involve you not reading the included paperwork.
The word "COVID" is like a bat signal for people to post their grievances. Thanks OP.
