We got these recently for our dogs to replace the old Samsung tags. These ones beep periodically for no reason. They keep waking us and our dogs up. Apparently it is a known issue and they may be defective. But it happens with all 4 of ours. Even when not on the dogs.

I agree, bought a 4 pack with one for our husky. Even the older model wouldn't last long had the random triple beep (which is the sound it makes when it boots up). Did some googling and apparently it's basically due to a loose battery connection so the device is essentially constantly and randomly rebooting.

The only solution is to take the battery out, make sure it has a secure fit and put it back. I actually wound up changing the battery in the unit - maybe better batteries are slightly larger than the cheapo ones that are included.

Since I did that, no more random beeping.

Sold out, but still haven't shipped.

They won't ship until Google launches the new Find My Device network, which is already a few months overdue.

Unless you need these devices RIGHT NOW, it really doesn't make any sense to buy a tracker when there is a presumably superior network that could be launched literally any day now.

The Google Find My Device network should rival Apple's network in the US, and easily surpass it overseas. It's not clear if any devices currently being sold will be supported on the new network, so it makes sense to wait.

how are you expecting feedback, when the product is still under pre-order, since Google keeps delaying support for trackers on their Find My Device network?
it's apple that's causing the dleay because apple's is still working on getting unknown device alerts. Google is ready to go and waiting for Apple.

There are theories and guesses that Apple is doing this on purpose to keep selling more airtags before google enters the market.

Amazon definitely sells these, they are 79.99 right now directly from Amazon.
oh nice, i just saw it down in the list. Usually, they just post their own offering as the main buy option, even if 3rd party ones are cheaper.

Whenever this feature rolls out, i imagine it's not going to be on already released Android versions. Also, if your phone is old and no longer receives updates, then you can't use the tags that work with Googles Finding software. Essentially, the old devices help newer devices find their tags, but can't use the service on their own is my thought. I'm basing it on how these Galaxy SmartTags work, all Galaxy phones help keep tabs on the tags, but only a subset can use them, and even smaller subset can use the UWB features.

Typical Apple anti competitive practice With that said, Apple's AirTags are the best on the market. And especially where I live, as in Japan iPhones are 46% (down from 58%) and Pixels ar eonly 12%. But Pixels are climbing fast since phones are not subsidized here so $1200 for a phone vs $500 for a phone is an easy choice for many.

So the only difference between these and a Tile, is the assumption that more people have a Samsung nearby, than the Tile app? Just wondering bc I have Tile trackers on my dogs.

I didn't know trackers include speakers. Do the other trackers include it too?

Most have a speaker to beep to help locate the tag, i.e. you lose your keys, you use an app to make it beep.

These have an AR feature to help you find items in addition to the beep, but it's dependent on what Samsung phone you have.

If you're planning to travel to South Korea then look at these -visiting family in Korea and the Apple Airtags don't work.
